Literature Lockdown (Board Game, 2019)

With the histories of White Terror (1949-1992) in Taiwan as background, Literature Lockdown is a pedagogical board game that enables players to learn and imagine the lives and works of the writers in that tragedic time. This project is a project collaborated by Graduate Institute of Taiwan Literature (GITL) and National Museum of Taiwan Literature (NMTL). This project was developed through several courses—“Cultural Fields and Literary Production in Postwar Taiwan” and “Research and Reculturation of Taiwan Literature.” The instructor and the project leader, prof. Chang Li-hsuan, leads a group of student, with resources from the digital archive of NMTL, step by step developing the board game based on the historical meterials on White Terror.

The Day the War Ends: Stories of the War Generation (Creative Nonfiction, 2017)

The Day the War Ends consists of creative nonfictions of different historical figures against the background of WWII. All the pieces were originated from students’ term projects in course “Literature research and writing practice” instructed by Prof. Su Shuo-bin. This book was well received in Taiwan and was listed as one of the “books of the year” in 2018.

A Hipster’s Guide to Colonial Taipei (Creative Nonfiction, 2015)

A Hipster’s Guide to Colonial Taipei is the first creative nonfiction project launched in Graduate Institute of Taiwan Literature. Led by Prof. Su Shuo-bin and Prof. Chang Wen-hsun, a group of students collaboratively presented an array of essays on cultural histories of Taipei City. From urban history to popular culture, the essays investigate into the historical scenarios during Japanese colonial period through an materialist approach.
